Help Dolores stop the Doggers
Claws Out is a third-person shooter where you pick between multiple bullet types, each with a different effect. You face several enemies at once and chain those effects with your revolver to survive.
The Doggers — a mafia trafficking milk — are ruining the Claws Out family business. Time to do something about it.

The award earned us the chance to present the game at IndieDevDay 2022.
Three months, eight people
I worked as an environment artist in a team of eight. We had three months to ship a video game, so we started by deciding what we could realistically pull off.
A steampunk game focused on combat felt right, so we mixed the ingredients:
From prototype to gold
- 1Prototype
- 2Alpha
- 3Beta
- 4Gold
Everyone produced concepts and documentation to pin down the game and how to finish it on time. I painted an environment concept, then we built a blockout of the first stage using the level design document (LDD) as reference.
The map was redesigned, so the artists rebuilt the blockout — this time more detailed and with some assets. The character went in with a placeholder shooting pose.
Texturing the assets we already had and building more to fill a map that was redesigned once again to make it bigger. Animations were added to smooth out the movement.

Only a couple of weeks from Beta to Gold: textures, set dressing so the map never feels empty, decals, new lighting, updated UI and menus, and every animation needed to make the movement feel great.
The finished game
- Environment concept art and stage blockouts
- Modular environment assets and set dressing
- Dolores' revolver, the main character's weapon
- Tunnel materials in Quixel Mixer
Tough weeks, but we made it on time.
